Nuts for special purposes includes, jam nuts, used as locking devices to keep regular nuts from loosening, castellated and slotted nuts, having a square or round bottom slot to accommodate a cotter pin or safety wire which holds them in place, used in automotive and allied fields on operating machinery wing and knurled nuts, designed for use. Where the nut is tightened or loosened with finger pressure only, and nuts for use on track bolts, stove bolts and machine bolts..
