There are different types of electrical switches based on Current (Ampere) rating varying for 6A to 32A. Today modular switches are available in different colours and designs to go with our modular home or office.
Switches are broadly categorized into two main categories –Fixed Configuration. Modular and Fixed Configuration switches are switches with a fixed number of ports and are typically not expandable. This category is discussed in further detail below. Cisco Catalyst 2K, 3K and the Cisco 300/500 series are good examples of Fixed Configuration switches.
