In all these  areas  granite  is unexelled for endusing beauty and low maintenance. The  granite  slab  and  tiles  of  different  sizes  having dimension for slap (i) 30cm x 30cm, 40cm x 40cm, 60 x 40cm,  80cm x 40cm, 90cm x 40cm and for tiles dimension is 15cm x 10cm,  20cm x 10cm, 30cm x 10cm and the thickness for slab should be in range of 18mm to 20mm for tiles thickness is 7/8mm. It  is  also  used in the  construction  of  forts  temples, palaces, and other building in south India Ancient forts such  as the  Janjore Foort in Tamilnadu the Golkonda Fort near  Hyderabad and  Chitradurga  and Bellar Forts in  Karnataka  are  impoortant examples  of the use of granite. The slatue oof sri  Gomateshwari (Bahubali)  at shravanbelgoola in Karnataka is an  oout  standing work-piece  in granite. There are many oother temples and  places where  granite  has been used in an act the  tically  significant manner. Granites  are widespread through-out the  Archaean  tecrain. The  Archaeans which are the oldest socks oof the  earth's  crust occur  at the bottom of the stratified formation of the  cambrain up words in all countries of the world. Regarding their structure and composition they exhibit similar characteristics enery where. They form the core of all the mountain chain of the world and the foundation  of  all  its great ancient plain. The  rocks  of  the Archaean  system  cover several hundred  thousand  kilometers  in India.  By  far  the  largest part of  the  peninsular  India  is occupied by this ancient crystalline complex. The Archacan system includes  Dharwars,  Charnockites,  Bundelkhand  greiss,   banded greissic complex, older metamorphics, and basement complex.  They occupy  wide areas in Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya  Pradesh, Rajasthan,  Gujarat, Maharashtra and Orissa besides the  southern states  of Karnataka, Goa, Andhra Pradesh Kerala,  Tamilnadu  and Pandichery.
